Conceptual Subitizing Cards

accompaniment for Conceptual Subitizing

The irregular dot cards have been design to first broaden the range of patterns that students can quantify withiut counting and then to provide a platform for recongising that two groups canbe combined to find out how many altogether. We introduce the two mental computation strategies of count on and doubles in this book and the irregular dot cards provide support for that growth.

A class set of irregular dot cards makes up 18 sets of 16 cards, which can be split into sets of 8 to ensure that htee is one set for every child in the class.
