| We have included here activities that are most appropriate for Level
1.
One of the areas that formed the focus of the first Unit at Level 1
was Children's Literature,
where we used Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar as a
starting point for a range of activities. There are many excellent
picture books that can be the trigger for mathematical activities and
thinking and from time to time we will add a book to this section
and some ideas for using it. Our first is the foot counting book, One
is a snail, Ten is a crab.
The Hey Diddle Diddle suggestion takes a well-known rhyme and
poses an interesting question.
If you have other ideas or if you have some interesting student
examples, please send them to us for inclusion in this part of the
site. |
