Research Summaries

To keep in touch with research findings worldwide, this section of the site will reflect information that Ann and Johnny have located. Our first article gives some background research that supports the mental routines approach. The second lists some important aspects of number sense.

Some of the information will be in the form of links to other sites that provide the kind of research information that teachers will find relevant. Otherwise, we have summarised the works of others and present it in usable chunks.

A feature of the material here is that it can be used to update the Rationale and Developmental Sequence sections of the Maths Planners, thus demonstrating that Club members are fully up-to-date with current practice.
