Teams can be registered for either:
-
the Senior
Challenge which is designed for Years 6 - 8 of a Primary School or the
Middle Years of a College, or
-
the Junior
Challenge which is designed for Years 4 - 5 of a Primary School.
The cost per team is $44.00 and a school
may register as many teams as they wish. A team normally consists of 4
students, but you can have more or less than that number if preferred. Also,
it is quite alright for the team membership to vary, as students may fall ill or
leave the school. However, for each challenge, there should always be at least 3
team members, as there are three questions per challenge and the load would be
too much for only two people. By the way, we do see this as a team event, as
participation in the challenges will involve the students in sharing
mathematical ideas and thus improve their use of mathematical language.
Each team should be under the supervision of a
teacher who will be called the Team Organiser and it is quite acceptable
for there to be more than one team organiser per school.
When you have decided on the the make-up of your
team(s), please advise your decision
by email or by snail mail. Once the first challenge has been completed, we
will mail your school an
invoice for $44 (GST incl) per team which covers our costs of administration and
feedback.
