Halloween Monster Challenge
I have been making Halloween cards for my friends. First, I had to teach myself how to draw monsters. I hope you like the monsters that I have drawn.
Level 1 Challenge
I want to have 15 eyes but no more than 5 monsters on each card. What combination of monsters could I use?
Possible Solutions
I made myself a few copies of my monsters and started shuffling them around on the dining table. Look what I found:
Then Johnny came over and suggested that we name the monsters by the number of eyes that they have. We soon came up with a few more possibilities:
Monster 1 | Monster 2 | Monster 3 | Monster 10
Solution 2 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 1 |
Solution 3 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 1 |
Solution 4 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Solution 5 | 0 | 0 | 5 | 0 |
Level 2 Challenge
Some of my monsters have two arms with three fingers on each hand. Some have no fingers.
I want 12 fingers and 24 eyes on each card. What combination of monsters should I use?
Possible Solutions
I started with shuffling my monster copies around on the dining table and found:
Johnny was on hand to help find a few more possible solutions:
Monster 1 | Monster 2 | Monster 3 | Monster 10
Solution 2 | 0 | 4 | 2 | 1 |
Solution 3 | 1 | 5 | 1 | 1 |
Solution 4 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 2 |
Hope your students have as much fun with these monsters as I did!
Keep safe
